Hoboken Public School Summer Performance at HHS packs the House!
Over 150 students played to a packed house at Hoboken High School this afternoon for the Summer Performance of the new Hoboken Public School Summer Enrichment Program.
The Summer Enrichment Program was a 6 week program which offered academics as well as extracurricular activities to over 300 Hoboken Public School K-7th grade students. The Summer Performance was the culminating activity for those students who picked "drama" as one of their extra curricular activities.
Of the 150 students involved in the show, about 80% had never performed on stage before. Ms. Miller (HHS Theater) was excited to be part of their introduction to the performing arts and encouraged them all to sign up for the District Play in May.
Many students in grades 8th thru 12th participated as well, either on stage or behind the scenes as stage managers, set and costume designers, choreographers and production assistants.
The show was a "Mash Up" of a variety of popular children's shows including Lion King, Annie, Aladdin, Pinocchio and Little Mermaid. It was approximately one hour and enjoyed by all.
