Did the city sell off the plows? Seems like there aren't many trucks trying to push the snow. Just wondering, I guess.

According to the city, there are at least nine plows out in the streets. http://patch.com/A-cP2T

Claire do you really expect us to believe you when we have un-sourced rumors from anonymous people to rely on? :)
How's it looking out there?

Seems like the Russo-Mason usual disinformation political machine is working overtime.
The plows have been out and working since Sunday afternoon and most streets have been open and passable and considering the twenty inches of snow things are pretty good.
Too bad that some need to try to tear others down to make themselves look better !

Obviously you haven't been out,Hobbs. The streets are in no way "passable". And by the way, stop labeling me every time i make a comment, fool. I'm not a Russo-Mason supporter. Just because you don't like what I say doesn't mean I'm affiliated with anyone. Jerks like you make it difficult to have an opinion that doesn't conform with the party line. I'm tired of the crap I have to take from people like you simply because I don't believe the garbage put out by the Zimmer machine.

Considering it snowed twenty inches last night things look prettyy darn good.
If you just want to wildly bash Zimmer without being called out go to the Mason fan site Hoboken411 as what that site is all about. :-)

I was just out and the streets are pretty good, all things considered. Your "outofcontrol" need to try to create imaginary issues no one cares about is the reason people are skeptical of your posts. Perhaps when you post something credibly sourced about an issue that real people outside your cabal care about others will take you more seriously. For example, was there a real emergency that was not attended to as a result of the storm? If so, was it the result of the storm itself or inadequate response by the city? If there was no such emergency, aren't you just blowing smoke out your arse? Of course, you won't answer those questions since the truth simply won't due when you think you can stir the pot with fairy tales while suffering from the delusion that your managing to spread rumors harmful to the mayor. Your wasting your time - you have no real audience here. But be satisfied with the knowledge that while your posts convince nobody they do provide enormous entertainment for those uninterested in your political agenda. Keep up the good work - I for one would truly miss you if you went away.

Perhaps this will put Hoboken's situation in perspective for those who wish to condemn the administration- NYC is having a difficult time getting on top of the blizzard aftermath unless you wish to blame Mayor Zimmer for that too:

Hoboken, NYC are facing post storm challenges .... and so is greater NJ (note the story notes that even plows are getting stuck):

Again, I asked a simple question. I believe it was answered by the author of the story. I think we're all capable of seeing what's going on outside. No need for the continuous excuses. I know it snowed, and I know it's difficult getting around. I don't need someone telling me that things are good when they aren't. I'm not blaming anyone for the snow, but I do think they were kind of slow getting ahead of the storm. No biggie. The kids are home, hubby got the day off and we'll keep ourselves busy doing fun stuff.

I asked a simple question and received an answer. Apparently, you don't like being questioned. You're all so paranoid it's pathetic. Nobody blamed Zimmer for the snow. But please be realistic. People looking at your comments may believe you and attempt to drive. It is what it is, but your defensive approach to just about every comment is getting scary. I'm almost afraid to say that today is Monday. You'll see that as my attempt at blaming the mayor because it's not Tuesday.
Look, if she's doing a good job, she doesn't need you telling us. We'll see it. Enough said.

Who cares about the state of the streets. The City and State is asking everyone to stay off the roads.
Unless of course the complainers above drive a fire truck, ambulance or a police car. In that case, I apologize.
Let's be patient people. Let's not hope for an 8 hour fix to a 14 hour mess.

outofcontrol - please remind us what your "simple question" was? I believe you asked whether the "City sold off their plows" because you didn't see as many as you would have liked, presumably when looking out your living room window. The author of the story responded that 9 plows had been working since last night. Please let us know whether you have learned any important lessons from the asking of a silly accusatory question and the prompt receipt of an answer directly refuting your childish innuendo. Since your posts both entertain others and give you an opportunity to learn and grow, the exercise of posting is surely worthwhile for you. Keep up the good work and let us know when you've learned enough to have reached intellectual and emotional adulthood.

All the years that I live in Hoboken, the sides street were never plowed.
When Russo was Mayor, they used to filled up the dump trucks and dumped them in the Hudson River.
That is now against the law since the garbage that came with the snow was also dumped there.
Russo's administration started to cleaned the street the day after the storm, or at least that's when they got to my street. They moved your car, and "parked" it a few spot down.
Question (Since I have not been out since yesterday morning), were are they putting all the snow?

From what I remember, they used to plow during the storm and then removed the snow starting the next day. One year they built mountains with the snow on Observer Road and another year they got permission to put it in the river. Then again, I think that was 1994 or 95 and it snowed every week for weeks. I don't think there is anyplace to put the snow now unless they use 1600 Park. I was still in college then but my now husband lived here and I remember watching the trucks going back and forth filled with snow.
