Board of Ed Forms Wellness Committee

Will be focusing on nutrition and physical education.

The Hoboken Board of Education has formed a wellness committee and will draft a wellness policy, said board member Jean Marie Mitchell during a meeting on Tuesday night.

The committee will focus on food education, food choice, nutrition and exercise. They will also be working with a representative from Chartwells, the vendor who provides the food in Hoboken's public schools, according to Mitchell.

In March it became apparent that Hoboken didn't have a wellness committee or policy The committee had its first meeting, said Mitchell, adding that they also discussed how to educate parents on healthy nutrition.
