A car drove into a building around 9:15 on Friday morning, according to the police radio and two eye witnesses.
A female driver, one eye witness said, "drove straight into that wall," as he pointed to a building on Washington and 11th street. The eye witness said that an ambulance came to transport the woman to a nearby hospital.
The Hoboken police department didn't have the police report on the incident yet.
About half an hour after the incident, the place of the incident was taped off with yellow tape, but there were no other disruptions to traffic. One police officer on a motorcycle was left on the scene at that point.
It's unclear what caused the woman to drive into the building and if she sustained any injuries.

These are the things that happen when you text and drive at the same time. They said they were cracking down. My Ass! Every person seems to be doing it now.

I don't think it was the case here. The woman was in her 60s or so and was parked. It seems she hit drive when she meant to hit reverse.

If this was my ward I would ask for a barrier to be built along the sidewalk to prevent this from happening. As a matter of fact I think I will post about this much needed idea on my Facebook page tonight. I'm so awesome. All you zimmer zombies can bite it.
