The city council, in a 7-1 vote on Wednesday night, approved a $1.2 million bond for park renovations around town.

That money will be used to complete phase two of renovations on Church Square Park — including a slide in the toddler area — Legion Park, Stevens Park playground and dog run as well as Weehawken Cove.

Phase two of the Church Square Park renovations also include the renovation of the dog run, the spray area, benches as well as restoration of the lawns.
