Connors Classrooms Damaged by Sandy to Remain Closed Until Further Notice

The Hoboken School District continues to work on its recovery from Hurricane Sandy, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Toback said on Tuesday night.
Especially the first floor of the Connors School sustained damage during the storm's flooding. Three classrooms, the cafeteria and multiple offices were destroyed.
The classrooms on the ground floor of the school are still closed, Toback said, and there is currently no time line for when the rooms will be open again.
"We do not have any information about whether or not we will receive funding," Toback said. "We don’t know about insurance yet."
There is currently no bid to start construction on the classrooms and no construction companies have been hired. The roughly 60 students — a total of three sections — who were displaced because of the damage will continue to go to the Brandt School.
The containers owned by the district will be occupied by Daycare 100, Toback announced.

Perhaps now is a good time for the state of New Jersey to live up to it promise and compel Governor Christie to release the $33,000,000, earmarked for vital upgrades to the Connor’s School but withheld from the children of Hoboken for at least the past 3 years.

FYI: At the groundbreakig for their new office building in Hoboken, Pearson gave the city $25,000. to help in the clean up at the Connors School

Why doesn't Toback know about the insurance? Isn't that a little strange?
