More than 100 people came together at the Jubilee Center Saturday morning for Hoboken Women for Change's first official charity event, said organizer and co-founder of Hoboken Women for Change Stacy Mello.

The event was titled "Think Global, Act Local," in an effort to not only encourage people to donate to Haiti victims, but also make them aware of charities in Hoboken, such as the Jubilee Center. 

On Twitter, Mello wrote that the day raised more than $1,000.
