Hobokenites To Choose Freeholder, State Assembly this Election Day

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. all over town.

Hobokenites can head to the polls as of 6 a.m. on Tuesday, to decide on two public questions as well as Hoboken's county and state representatives.

Public Questions on the ballot:

Public Question No. 1: Should sports betting be allowed in New Jersey? Assemblyman Ruben Ramos—who's also on the ballot—wrote a letter to the editor last week, supporting the legislation.

Public Question No. 2: Should the new rent control ordinance be repealed? Tenant advocates say "yes," while landlords say "no." All members of the council as well as the mayor are urging voters to vote no, while tenant advocates previously gathered more than 3,000 signatures to put the issue on the ballot.

Candidates:

Assemblyman Ruben Ramos Jr. and his running mate Sean Connors from Jersey City are the Democratic candidates for state assembly. The two Republican candidates on the ballot are Fernando Uribe and Christopher Garcia.

Running for re-election as Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, against Republican candidate Stephen DeLuca.

State Senator, and Union City Mayor, Brian Stack, who also represents Hoboken, is also up for re-election. Running against him is Republican candidate Beth Hamburger.

Candidates to be Hoboken's representative on the Board of Chosen Freeholders are incumbent Anthony "Stick" Romano—who is running on the Hudson County Democratic pary line—and independent candidate Kurt Gardiner.

Where to vote?

A full list of places to vote can be found on the city's web site. Polls close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Anthony "Stick: Romano will spend $108,0000.00 of others peoples money and most of that is from people outside of Hoboken and Jersey City Heights, to try to stay in office today.

Why did the give him all that money ?

How will he repay them ?
