Hoboken Woman Arrested After Allegedly Slapping Police Officer

Police blotter

While a fire was blazing at Third and Washington Streets, police was called over to the report of an intoxicated Hoboken woman a few blocks away, according to police reports.

Rachael Lynch, 35, was allegedly yelling to people and seemed intoxicated, police said. As the police officer approached her, police said, Lynch was seen swinging her arms at a nearby "unknown concerned citizen."

When police intervened and try to stop Lynch, she allegedly slapped the cop on his right cheek with her left hand, police said. When placed under arrest, Lynch refused to get up from the ground where she had lied down, police said, and had to be carried into the police car.

After arriving at Police Headquarters, Lynch allegedly refused to get out of the police car and had to be carried into the station, police said. At the police station Lynch kicked over computers and was allegedly verbally abusive to the medical staff, according to reports.

Police said Lynch was charged with aggravated assault, obstructing administration of law and disturbing the peace.

Okay, seriously, can the PD please start passing out those fat $2,000 fines already to these people? Just make it a year round thing already.

This girl sounds like a winner. Maybe if they put her in the cell with a bunch of male offenders she would stop drinking immediately and apologize.

I think even $500 would start to make people start to shape up, but there are too many people getting a slap on the wrist. $2000 is pretty big stick, but right now we are not even using any stick. How about start at a $500 and if that does do the trick up it to $1000.

Hell, my three year old knows that when I start counting, she is going to lose a privilege of some sort. If she is not towing the line by the time I get to 5, no Dora or Kai Lan. I rarely get to 4, by 3 she is holding my hand and behaving.

Hoboken wake up, you complain about the drunks, yet you only enforce fines on special days. Put the fines in place each and every day, and these people might think twice.

Sorry Barbara, the mayor only enforces those fines when she has an opportunity to hurt businesses in this town or to lash out at specific ethnic groups.

1) Sorry Barbara, Outofcontrol only speaks when she can find a way to drag in her consuming hatred of the mayor, eg, writing tickets is anti-Irish.

2) She's an idiot.

You are the equivalent of Hoboken's Al Franken or Rush - extreme and marginalized because you have nothing positive to add and you have an agenda
