Holiday Season Starts with Local Shopping Deals

Several local shops are holding sales for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday

This Friday, after you breakfast early on leftover turkey, be sure to visit your favorite Hoboken shops for some great post Thanksgiving deals. If you don't hit everything on Friday don't fret, you'll still find even more great deals as the Mile Square participates in the second annual Small Business Saturday. Here are just a few of those great shopping deals this weekend:

  • For the best in kitchenware, visit 536 Washington Street, which is offering deals on Le Creuset caste iron Dutch ovens, fine casserole dishes and other unique cookware. As a bonus you'll save 10% on all dish towels.
  • Newly opened at 57 Newark Street is offering 25% off or more on lipsticks, lip glosses, eye shadows eyeliners and brushes. Palettes normally selling for $35 are going for $25, foundations at $19 are marked down to $16.50 and powders are discounted from $16 to $12. All jewelry is also on sale, save 10% on one piece, 20% on two and 30% on three or more.
  • , the at 158 1st Street, is having a 15% storewide sale on Friday and Saturday. Some of the most popular items on the shelves include Leila Lou perfume and gift sets, Nuxe body oil and Apple & Bee cosmetics and travel bags.
  • At the Stone Hut, 1028 Washington Street, you'll find most merchandise marked down 20% (everything except for troll beads and light fixtures). You can find a diversity of finely crafted items with everything from women's earrings to elegant Mariposa silverware.
  • Looking for the latest winter fashions? Visit , 718 Washington Street. You'll save 20% on all shoes and 10% when you spend over $100. They have the latest Matt Bernson boots, James jeans, and plenty of dresses for all those upcoming holiday parties.
  • You can save money on popular Ugg boots at 404 Washington Street, where each pair is discounted by $20. The shoe store also has a clearance rack with items marked 75% off and is giving complimentary scarves with every purchase of $50 or more.
  • , 120 Washington Street, the home furnishing store that sells both modern and antique pieces, is discounting all furniture and mirrors by 30%.
  • For the all sorts of creative gift ideas, visit the , 312 Washington Street. All day Friday the boutique is offering 35% off selected fall gifts, boxed holiday invitations and photo cards and selected Vera Bradley items. Spend more than $50 on Vera Bradley and you'll get a free gift card. The store is also giving away extra special deals between 5-8pm.

So there you have it, some of the best shopping deals in town on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. And what about Sunday? On that day, get some rest, watch some football and finish picking those turkey bones!
