Housing Authority Board to Hire New Lawyer in Special Meeting
The meeting will take place at 221 Jackson St. on Thursday Feb. 7.
The Hoboken Housing Authority is scheduled to hire a new attorney for the agency on February 7, in a special meeting, Chairman Jake Stuiver said on Tuesday.
"The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss responses to the Request for Qualifications for general counsel to the Hoboken Housing Authority, whose bid deadline is Feb. 1," Stuiver wrote in a press release. "Action will likely be taken to make an appointment based on the responses."
The regularly scheduled meeting will take place the following week, on February 14.
Also on the agenda will be a discussion and review of the status of Phase 1 of the Vision 20/20 redevelopment project.
During the last Hoboken Housing Authority meeting, the board proposed to hire a deputy director on a consultancy basis, but that plan was postponed, because not all commissioners had been able to review the resolution before the meeting.
The special meeting will be held at 221 Jackson St. at 7 p.m. on February 7.

There will never be change in the HHA until they fire them all and start fresh. There is to much corruption and mishandling of the HHA budget. Look it has been over 90 days since the super storm sandy hit and the people living in the HHA "Projects" don't have any heat still, and look at the below zero wind chill weather we are having. The committee is made up of pure scam artist. Yea lets build a baseball field and state change, bs there not doing anything down there but putting up some fresh paint jobs and calling it rebuilding. The HHA is even trying to enforce a force work program, stating to residents if they don't work for free for HHA they will be evicted. This needs to be investigated, these people pay rent on close to nothing incomes, most are disabled seniors, or single mothers with infants and the HHA want to force this upon them, can anyone say slave labor. So what do they want the poor resident to paint, clean up and rebuild the HHA "projects" so the budget money proposed for the jobs get pocketed. That is so corrupt, and the HHA board continues to get away with their corrupt actions do to an uneducated HHA resident population who have no clue how to fight for their rights or even speak english to be able to. Fire them all get a thorough investigation done, prosecute those who have wronged the community and start fresh.

Are you trying to say that the exec director is somehow doing something unethical?
Do tell...

pdq that is exactly what is being said but all the officials uptown turn a blind eye and a def ear to the HHA "projects" residents, and let the directors and others in ca-hoots with em do as the please with every aspect of the HHA and the HHA buget.

The few pages of HHA audits the exec director allowed to be placed online, show that you may be correctly assessing their "ethical" problems.
What specific unethical issues are you experiencing or hearing about?

The HHA commisioners, FBI, or AG are the entities that oversee the HHA not city hall. HHA is a completely separate entity.

Firethemall is clearly an old guard individual upset that change is coming to HHA similar to city hall. Sorry but say bye bye to corruption. Might be time for you to move out of town.

Doesn't sound like a pro-OG post to me. Reform has to get a little more comfortable with dealing with shades of grey.

Glad to hear someone else saying what I have heard for years. Keep the dialogue going. Maybe then something good will happen at HHA.
