Three men were arrested on Saturday after being involved in a fight, obstructing arrest and spitting bodily fluids at a police officer, according to reports.
Around 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a large fight at 460 Fifth St., where approximately 30 people were fighting, spectating and yelling, according to reports. Police first arrested Bryant Arguto, 23 from North Bergen, who had left the fight and was walking the street without his shirt on allegedly pushing and shoving people in the street, police said. After Arguto was placed in a police car, four women came up to the officers and told them a man was unconscious in the hallway of the building, according to reports.
Police found 23-year-old Christopher Macias, from North Bergen, on the floor in a hallway at 460 Fifth St., bleeding from the mouth and nose, according to the report. Ambulance personnel came to assist Macias, but he allegedly started assaulting the EMTs, police said. Macias tried to get up and leave, pushing a police officer down the stairs in the process, causing both men to fall, police said.
When Macias was placed under arrest by the officer, he yelled "I'll kill you a**hole," and "I'm going to shoot you," according to the police report.
Meanwhile, outside in front of the cop car, Rami Elsayed—a 22-year-old from Clifton—attempted to free Arguto from his captivity, police said. Elsayed was also placed under arrest, according to the report.
Macias, whom police was trying to get into another radio police car, was getting angrier and angrier, police said. "I'm going to f***ing kill you all," Macias allegedly said, according to the reports.
Once in the cop car, Macias continued to yell profanities at the cop, threatening to sexually assault his mother, sister and daughter, according to the police reports. Macias then spat a mouthfull of blood on the arresting officer, which landed on the cop's uniform, according to the reports.
Macias was transported to police headquarters where he, again, refused medical attention and spat blood in his holding cell, police said. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, subjecting police to bodily fluids and disorderly conduct. Arguto was charged with disorderly conduct and Elsayed was charged with obstructing the law, according to police reports.

Hopefully the officer's nightstick was used accordingly to teach a little respect. This sounds like a wonderful gathering of trash! Were these Yuppies or Ghetto folk?

"Were these Yuppies or Ghetto folk?"
Do you actually think hating "yuppies" too makes you appear to be less of a racist? It doesn't. I'm glad the HPD handled the situation professionally but its hard to understand why this is news even on a slow news day.
The Mayor claimed in her speech the other day that crime was down something like 15% since she got elected. Is that claim true or false? If its true, then what's up with the huge uptick in the publishing of incident descriptions by the local media?
Now a story getting to the truth of this would actually be news. Too bad nobody is likely to write it so where the truth lies.

@magnus - it is called sarcasm. If I called the whole group involved in the ruckus trash, is that okay? If we had Arizona's law on the books we could check for citizenship as well and possibly reduce the group involved by at least a couple. (I am sorry, is my desire to have the same type of policy on the books in NJ that exists in another state racist too?)

Considering that there is no reason whatsoever to believe that the perps here are illegal immigrants - yes that is racist too. The fact that you are so full of hate to not even know that and to double down on your racist comments is both sad and scary.

All this proves is that the perp is a serial perp and you are a racist a-hole.
When Anthony Russo stomped on a political opponent at a CC meeting did you consider him ghetto folk or a yuppie?
A thug is a thug and they come in all ethnic and religious varieties. As do racists and morons.

If this guy had was unconscious he could have had head trauma that was causing him to be combative. If he wasn't aware of his surroundings then he should have been restrained and not allowed to refuse medical care. I'm assuming that the EMTs had significant time to evaluate him and determine him alert and oriented.

Maybe he was knocked out because he was a good and kind soul?

Hopefully, the police officer was not hurt in anyway just trying to so his or her job. Sounds like this person has some mental disturbance and/pr anger management issues.
BTW- Crime is down according to the Mayor's speech but not eliminated. That is why there are still police reports and websites like Patch, Hoboken Reporter, and Nj.om have been reporting the police blotter as long as I can remember.

Actually, the mayor's reference to the crime rate being the lowest in decades is a little short on truth. According to the latest statistics, violent crime is up, auto theft is down and burglaries are up. I just wish she could be honest for once.

@HT - My comment had nothing to do with why he was knocked out. Anytime there is suspected loss of consciousness due to trauma there could be a serious head injury that can only be diagnosed by a CAT scan at the ER. If he collapsed at HPD and died because a brain bleed cause by what could have been a well deserved punch to the head the city would be in a whole heap of trouble.

The man refused medical treatment. Seems like he was just drunk & stupid. Fine him mercilessly and teach him to at least take his stupidity elsewhere.

@Red - if there is no evidence of head trauma then my point is moot and the guy needs to be treated harshly by our fine justice system. As a former EMT myself I know how difficult it can be to tell the difference between a drunk, a diabetic, a douche bag and someone with a head injury. Since it was reported there was a fight and someone unconscious I'm curious to know why he was allowed to refuse care. I'm sure the EMTs had a good enough reason to release him to HPD but it's very hard to tell from the story.

I suspect the EMT's got tired of being cussed at, spit at and yelled at ;-)
I am sure someone kept an eye on him in case he took a turn for the worse. Now let us just hope that the courts bankrupt this bum so he can't afford to drink beer in Hoboken any more. Tired of hearing about this stupidity every freaking weekend. Fine these people to the point where it hurts them so much that they either learn to behave, they quit drinking or they drink elsewhere. I 100% support a person's right to have fun responsibly. But people like this need to be punished severely.
