An unkown man with a gun robbed a downtown store on Saturday around 7:30 p.m., according to police reports.
According to police, a male entered an establishment on Newark and Garden Streets and demanded money from an employee while pointing a gun straight at him. The victim handed over $250 in bills, police said.
The victim, a 29-year-old Jersey City man, told police that the robber was about 5-foot-11, light skinned and wearing a black hoodie, according to the report.
The robber was wearing blue rubber gloves and didn't leave any finger prints and video footage of the event was unavailable, according to the report.
After the victim handed over the money, the robber left the store, police said.
A search was conducted by police, but the man wasn't found, according to the police report. No arrests were made.

Wow, TB, I've got to tip my hat to you, your statistical analysis is rightly impressive. I'd love to have your recipe, I could only hope to replicate your brilliance. Let's see if I can take a stab at it, shall we?
1) Read report about a crime that occurred.
2) Pour contents of report into long-established political predisposition. Make sure to avoid any data or context, that might undercut your agenda.
3) Spin.
Outstanding. Please consider coming to Hoboken more often and offering seminars, we could all stand to benefit from your superior intellect and academic research techniques. I would love to guess how many PhD's you've earned with those research skills, but I don't want to insult you with what could only be a gross underestimate. The quality of life in this town has been steadily decreasing and the mayor thinks that by squeezing the Parade Committee that she's addressing the problem. Everyone who lives in town knows someone who has either been 1) mugged 2) had a car stolen 3) had their home burglarized. Please don't pretend that things are safe in Hoboken. Women walking alone late at night (intoxicate or not), drunks stumbling and bumbling, fights (any area with a nightlife has this issue).......The fights are usually between idiots from group A with idiots from group B who are upset about whore C......
When was the last time a family walking through the park was mugged? I have been here 15 years and have never heard of such a thing. Are senior citizens being robbed of their social security at the banks?
This neighborhood is about as safe as any urban setting.

Breaking News- Crime Reporting is Up at Patch!
Yet another all pro-union/Old Guard co-opted rag Patch is in danger of becoming just like the Hudson Distorter. Total crime is down but robberies are up. Whats next? Blame the Mayor for bad economy or the severe budget cuts and real layoffs from Jersey City that help steer the crooks to the "catch basin" that is Hoboken?

Looking forward to seeing a certain mentally imbalanced and morally bankrupt webmaster with a penchant for being a pigsty showing up on the police blotter soon as well. Now that would be a crime I would like to see reported. Innocent until proven guilty but the alleged reprehensible behavior must stop. Cybersquatting, extortion, just alleged tools of the trade for Beth Mason's favorite political yellow journalistic website.
The failure to not report this a Patch would suggest the possibility that Patch too plops purple pillows in figurative a sense for the Pupie Posse/Mason's Maniac's and the rest of the Old Guard. Again, I say only suggests the possibility. :)

Dearest Bob R, since you addressed your comments to TB and referred to OOC as living out of town - I will repeat the fact that I DO NOT POST on Patch under any other name but this one. So, if you or anyone else believes that OOC is Theresa Burns, the former BOE member who currently resides in Secaucus, you are mistaken. I am Theresa Burns. I post under the name "tburns" only.
I normally address education-related issues, but occassionally offer my opinion on other topics. However, my ONLY username is tburns.
In fact, these blogs that should provide an opportunity for civil discourse on topics of mutual local interest have devolved into public billboards for slander and mischaracterization. That is true for both sides. The whole body politic of Hoboken has become irreparably fractured and damaged and concerned less with progress for the good of the city than promoting a particular agenda. These blogs are largely to blame.
That being said, they DO offer the opportunity to exercise our first amendment rights. And so I will continue to offer my opinions. As always, Theresa Burns.

I am going to be subpoenaed to answer questions outside of court in a criminal defense of conspiracy?
By the way go back a few of my posts, and copy and paste that into your blog. You will find I warned Rory to stay away from the likes of you on Dec 14th "Rory they will target you next you can bet your bottom dollar."
Just like I warned him in December, before the Klaussen incident. So now perhaps by confiding in you and perhaps even your urging and perhaps the urging of others he has now sworn out a criminal complaint.
It is really sad to say he may be very well destroyed by associating and confiding in people like you. It is too bad he is actually is a nice guy. I however just don't trust him to come into my closet or with my hard earned cash and you can take that one to court all you like.
Nancy riddle me this. How much time in jail is involved for swearing out a false statement? How about when you already have a criminal record? Does the Judge take kindly to that? If I had a criminal record, I certainly would be sure to ask obtain my own lawyer and ask them for proper legal advice.

Nutty Nancy already spilled the beans about Rory confiding his altercation with Klaussen to her back in January, and Roman has been writing continually about the coming criminal complaint for days now, he obviously knew plus several posters have also stated on these blogs about some kind of Dynamite Boom etc, coming. The two of them obviously influenced Rory to file a criminal complaint against Perry K, and perhaps some others as well. If Rory was wronged he should file a complaint, the only problem is when it is made up. I don't know if it was made up or if there are witnesses but time will tell. I think Rory is just a dupe in the political climate we live in today, some people will do anything, steal email, lie to officials etc no matter the consequences all part of slash and burn politics.

Roman ICANN ruled no copyright infringement. You withheld the info in your stories and made it seem like some kind of criminal or civil legal complaint which it is not while waiting for Rory's Criminal Complaint to be filed? Is that the case there with your "breaking story" while you claim other media chose to ignore it?
Here is their ruling and FYI ICANN is not a part of any court of law they are a private sector, non-profit corporation. Is there a legal issue here? Perhaps so, care to site your source at eMazzanti who sold the domain to Klaussen? Any reason why you did not ask questions about who actually owned to Domain since the year 2000 long before HMag came into existence? Care to explain why they sold the domain to Klaussen knowing it was their customer that was the rightful owner?

Care to comment on your discussions with Rory before he filed his Criminal Complaint? Did you coach him? Did you at least advise him to see competent legal representation? I like to mess with you, you know. Such a dim-wit, you always rise to the bait, then flop like a fish on a hook. Not a shark- an anchovy. HA HA HA.

I agree with the link to ICANN but disagree with your designation of its conclusion. Anyone can read the end and the summary that describes so accurately Perry Klaussen of Hoboken411 on not just this matter but every matter of importance on any respective issue in Hoboken as acting in "bad faith." Ye gods do have a sense of humor!
You can post additional false accusations on MSV but I'm not interested in being a bad neighbor to Hoboken Patch and completely hijacking the thread here.
If other media who had the same access to the documents and people as MSV wish to follow up and think I should be interviewed as part of the Hoboken411 criminal coercion story, I'm available but doubt I will be receiving many inquiries.
ICANN as a matter of record states the dispute is about Hoboken411 and Hmag. MSV has the story right. Clearly that's what led to the alleged criminal behavior by Perry Klaussen of Hoboken411.
The lawyers and the court will sort out the criminal complaint. Have yet to hear one person see anything incongruent here with Perry Klaussen's behavior.
See ya on MSV if you are brave enough to post there. But I won't argue with the brain trusts here calling itself Boink. LOL
Later.

Yes it's an armed robbery. Jeez, what city doesn't have those from time to time? It's unfortunate.
NYC on one side, Jersey City on the other, trains that run to Newark and you're shocked? Maybe city living isn't for you.
We can't even get Mason's people, Russo, that dope Tim and Castellano to vote to pay firefighters, or to fund the city's fight against lawsuits, don't forget the hospital they tried to shut down. What should happen? Fight crime with wishful thinking? It costs money.

Didn't Roman get attacked by that tiny man? Roman, didn't you ever watch Little Rascals? You push his head with your palm and let him flail around in the air.
Amazing he had the nerve to try and have him arrested.

Yes, he did Eric.
There was an arrest warrant out for the Unibrowed One... the charge was ROBBERY. Yes, the police were looking for him but he was on the run. Finally he turned himself in to HPD headquarters. Only after his arrest, he filed a counter-complaint- a big joke because he had no witnesses to back up his tale, while Roman had 6 lined up to testify, and a roomful of others.
That's the fiction Hoover-Boink the Castrato is trying to sell you.
