Earlier on, Corportation Counsel Mark Tabakin informed the council president that she was not entitled to the emails, because of an ongoing in City Hall, concerning a "." Tabakin told Mason during a meeting two weeks ago that any may interfere with the FBI's investigation.

, Mason asked for the emails as well as more information about the investigation again.

During Wednesday night's meeting, however, Tabakin and Mason reached a comprimise. The FBI will take a look at the emails the council president has requested. If they don't interfere with the investigation, they will be released to her. The FBI will give the emails to Tabakin. Tabakin, in turn, will give the emails–watermarked—to Mason.
