Amazing in a very short time in public service. I guess being positive, cleaning up the mess of corruption and mismanagement of past Administrations and moving Hoboken foward by doing things the right way has put Mayor Dawn Zimmer at the top of the list.

Zimmer's base stands at 1800 votes. That has been proven on most of the off cycle elections. For example in the last General Election ZImmer endorsed Gardiner. Don't give me that crap that she didn't endorse him. Even the Zimmer die hards don't buy that. Gardiner pulled about 1800 votes. If that makes ZImmer the 3rd most powerful power broker in Hudson County then I have a Bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Frank Raia is already pulling 2000 VBM's.
PS. The HQ also supported Gardiner and the HQ encouraged others to do so as well. So maybe Zimmer's base is closer to 1800 - 1.

Mayor Zimmer won over 6000 votes in the June '09 mayoral and won over 5,600 when competing in the crowded race of 5 candidates.
.
In the November '09 race where Raia faced Mayor Zimmer he garnered a total of 2,665 votes. Mason barely edged Frank out for 2nd place. Both Raia and Mason were over 2,500 votes behind Mayor Zimmer.
.
But why let facts get in your way, feel free to tell us another story.

FAP I very specifically referenced 2 points (1) off cycle and (2) the last general election. My facts are correct. Those are way better indicators of a true base of voters - the loyalists who will show up no matter what.

HQ I suppose it's your expertise that has lead Beth Mason to her success. If there's anything I can do to encourage you to continue advising Mason please let me know.

Wow. HQ ticking off those convoluted stats. More interestingly, Mr Raia's highly questionable VBM effort is actually a point of pride for these Old Guarders.

And what is Mason's base? The people who take $40 checks? I'll take 1800 people who vote for free as a base over 18mm voters that need to be paid to vote.

Sorry FAP but I just find it hard to believe that a 1 term mayor about to get booted in 2013 is some kind of power broker. At least on the Jersey City side they got it right with respect to Healey. They know he is gone too. However, I did agree with some of the rankings. I actually would have moved the list of Developers up a few notches. And I think that the "blogger" rating should have been moved up a lot as well.

Man HQ I guess you really have a handle on things. I can only imagine whoever you support for Mayor will win in the first round. Pretty much no reason for anyone else to even run.
.
Care to tell us who you plan to anoint?

HQ is the same kind of an optimist about the next election as Ms Mason surely is. Yikes! They need a reality check over here! Or they can just wait until the night of the election.

beth mason is hot on zimmer's heels, coming in at #41...wait, #41?? behind "bloggers"?? hey ricky, that's hundreds of thousands of dollars in consultants fees well spent, LOL! hey lane/perry/probus/OOC etc., what do you have to say about this 3rd place-versus-41st place finish? facts and reality hurt sometimes, huh?

The rumor is swirling around in the press and Hoboken is that the Mason's finally understand that Hoboken voters really just don't like Elizabeth and even the old guard does not trust her enough to vote for her without being hired to do so and she will never be anything more than a Councilwoman.
Fighting hard to even remain a Councilwoman is not enough return for the million dollars plus the Masons have spent.
Still seek to fulfill the "manifest destinty" her ego demands, Mrs. Richard Mason and her political consultants has been trying to work a deal to buy herself an Assembly seat.

Jeff Boss would make a better assemblyman than the queen of mean.

It has more to do with the fact that Mason has totally burned her bridges in Hoboken. An assembly seat will be easier for her to buy since it will be people that only know her from her glossy mailings - not from her actual conduct.

She is hated here and can't win w/o spending a fortune on buying votes. Any credible Democrat w/ a real following will destroy her at the polls.

As we have seen with Assemblyman Ramos being credible isn't even a hard and fast requirement and that once the Hundson County political bosses place you on their ticket, their machine just turns their vote out and they have their guy in office.
All that is needed is you need to feed the machine something it wants...and the Mason's got a lot of what they want. ;-)

it's a list of powerful people, not necessarily good government. being high or low on it is not necessarily a compliment. the HR itself points out stack's scandals.

I agree Alan - it is not necessarily a list of good government starting with # 3.

Ha, you are just ticked off that your employer has literally dumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into politics and she is behind a bunch of people who post for free. LMAO at you paid shills!

Mayor saved the hospital. Mason is getting city employees laid off again in 2012.
Another benefit of the sabotage by MORTe on blocking an easy refinance on the midtown garage wasting millions.
Good work HQ/prosbus. Regard to your hate filled count$$.
