Police Blotter: Assault with a Laptop On Adams Street

A Guttenberg man was arrested Saturday night

A 37-year-old Guttenberg man was arrested in front of 1020 Adams St. on Saturday night after assaulting an acquaintance by beating him with a lap top—still in the box, weighing 12 pounds—and a brown bag filled with human feces, according to police reports.

Police were called around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, after reports of people fighting in the street, officers said.

Carlo Gesauldi, from Guttenberg, told Hoboken police that he had come to the victim's house to beat him up, because he had tried to hit on his girlfriend, according to police reports.

The victim had gone outside to greet Gesauldi and extended his arm while he walked toward him, police said. Instead of taking the hand, Gesauldi punched the victim in the face and knocked him to the ground, officers reported. After attempting to get up, the victim was thrown back to the ground after being struck with a boxed lap top, police said. The victim's right leg was also twisted, police said.

Gesauldi then took a brown paper bag, which was filled with human feces, and pushed it on the victim, police said. The victim's wife called the police, according to police reports.
