PolitickerNJ: Bhalla Looking to Run for Assembly on Brian Stack's Ticket
Hoboken's Councilman-at-Large raised $40,000 at a December fundraiser.
Councilman Ravi Bhalla is raising money for a potential assembly run on State Senator Brian Stack's ticket, according to PolitickerNJ.
Bhalla hosted a fundraiser earlier this month in conjunction with Newark Mayor Cory Booker at the Newark Ramada.
"We're plugging away," Bhalla told PolitickerNJ. "One thing about running at that level is that it's earned, not given. I am building a strong fundraising base."
Tickets were between $250 and $2,6000 and according to Politicker, Bhalla raised $40,000.
Bhalla ran for Assembly in 2011, as an independent, but lost to Assemblymen Sean Connors and Ruben Ramos Jr. Bhalla is currently serving his first term on the Hoboken City Council. He is up for re-election — together with the two other at-large councilmembers as well as Mayor Dawn Zimmer — in November, 2013.
Stack is a known ally of Gov. Chris Christie. And while Bhalla is known to be a Democrat, he told PolitickerNJ that he is not committed to any candidate yet.

So true. When fundraising is done in the light of day rather than the backroom with Solomon Dwek, it's a safe bet that you will treat them as moral equivalents. And that you'll tell yourself that cut/pasting the french phrase makes your tediousness and lack of insight seem "sophisticated".

I don't speak frog like Cassandra, but I don't think that Stack is a good person & I don't like that Ravi is attaching himself to him.

$2,500 PAC Contribution to Mayor Cory Bookers PAC = awarded a no-bid contract of $120,000 in Newark the next day. FACT !!!
Contributed $2,350 to Brian Stack's PAC = awarded a $127,000 contract from Union City. FACT !!!
Contributed to Dave Roberts campaign as well. Bhalla is a Player in Hudson County, don't let him fool you!
Mayor Zimmer will back him for Assembly because she does not want Ravi to ever run against her for Mayor!
This guy is the hypocrite of hypocrites when it comes to pay to play. FULL OF BS!

So says the media sponsor for Beth Mason's embarrassingly cynical county "charity". One thing's for sure. You're an expert in bs.

XJS has a point. I would like to know what some of my fellow reformers feel about Ravi running with Stack in this case. Perhaps a discussion on Hoboken Horse or GA? You guys are uncharacteristically silent and these are matters we should be addressing.

Why no discussion on MILE SQUARE VIEW or GA? You guys are uncharacteristically silent and these are matters we should be addressing.
What is reform if we are willing to attach ourselves to anyone just to get elected?
