Protestors Object to Funding to Pearson Publishing
Pearson will move into a new building on the Hoboken waterfront.
A small group of advocates joined in a peaceful demonstration along the Hoboken waterfront on Thursday afternoon, to object to a $66 million subsidy Pearson Education received from Governor Chris Christie.
The demonstration comes as Pearson, an education publishing giant, is building a new building on the Hoboken waterfront.
Currently based in Bergen County, Pearson will relocate 500 jobs to lower Manhattan and hundreds more to Hoboken. Pearson signed a lease in Hoboken last year.
