Stevens Institute To Inaugurate New Prez
Dr. Nariman Farvardin is the seventh president of the Stevens Institute of Technology
Stevens Institute of Technology will be inaugurating its seventh president on Friday, with appearances from the Lieutenant governor, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu.
Chu will headline a panel discussion on Friday morning at 9 a.m. at the DeBaun Autditorium. The panel, and the official inauguration at 2 p.m. on Friday, are part of a three-day celebration of the school's president Dr. Nariman Farvardin.
Farvardin started as president at Stevens on July 1. Before joining Stevens, Farvardin was senior vice president for academic affairs and provost of the University of Maryland, where he worked for 27 years.
