Whether it's a plate of pasta or a slice of pizza, Hoboken is known for excellent Italian food. And now, as part of a new weekly survey, we're asking you what your favorite place is.

Patch is starting a new feature of “Patch Favorites” where you can vote on your favorite local business in Hoboken in a category presented each week.

While we came up with an initial list, we encourage you to post any businesses we missed that fit the “Favorite Italian Restaurant” category in the comments below.

Voting closes at 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments below, and reviews on Patch Places. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

The restaurants to vote on include:

Be sure to vote for your favorite place to enjoy Italian food around town, and tell us why it’s your favorite in the comments.

Editors Note: Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Arthur's Tavern???? .Seriously, you have Arthur's, which is a steak house, but not Leo's or Margherita's?? Margherita's has great, fresh pasta. Leo's is pretty good too, love their bar pie with everything.

I agree with the folks above, what about Margherita's and Leo's?? Leo's is a Hoboken staple and not to be included on the list shows that the Patch doesn't know what its talking about! Arthurs Tavern, really.......not worth voting!

if you are going to put Arthurs Tavern on this poll, might as well add a half dozen other non-Italian places.

I have to agree with everyone. How is Arthur's included in this discussion? Other places not on this list are Delfino's and Trattoria Sapporito.

How can you have a survey like this without having Leo's on it.

Excellent! Not to nit-pick but there is only one "s" in Grandevous".

And, while we're at it I agree with "speechlessin hoboken" - Margherita's deserves a nod.

Cafe Michelina is the best food for the price. Service can be wonky, but it's that same all over Hoboken. Benny Tudino's Pizzeria Italian food is no better than anyone else's in town, you go for the pizza...and ignore the attitude behind the counter.

Or you go elsewhere where there is less attitude.

Neither of those places are really an Italian restaurant. A good ziti dish, does not an Italian restaurant make.

I can't believe Balbo's isn't on this list? Hands down best pizza in the area. Pasta dishes are amazing too. I don't order from anywhere else at this point.

There is Italian and then there is real Italian. I love it when I see this "Yuppie" Italian mentioned a lot. Most of the so-called Italian Pizza Pie places do not even make their own dough for the pizza. They buy premade stuff and build a pizza which anyone can do. Even the sauce/gravy used to be different at each pizza pie place. Balbo's and Leo's has been around for years, in fact more years then I can remember and I am kinda mature. Now when I ask for a pizza pie, I get looks like I am from a foreign country. Most of todays pizza pies are premade stuff.
