Where to Find Open Restaurants, Electricity in Hoboken

An interactive map will show you exactly what's open and what's closed, where there's power and where you can go to charge your phones.

While power was partially restored in Hoboken on Thursday night, most of Hoboken still woke up in dark, cold apartments on Friday morning.

To find out where restaurants are open, where power has been restored and where to go for a hot cup of coffee, an interactive map has been created.

Multiple hot spots have been set up around town, Duracel is on downtown with a truck filled with batteries. Between Fourth and Tenth on Hudson Street, residents are offering electricity in charging stations for those who are still without power.

Multiple businesses on Washington opened up as of Thursday:

- Hot meals are being served at the Elks Lodge

- Food trucks are serving free meals in Church Square Park

- A mobile Bank of America ATM is located at Bloomfield and Observer

- Karma Kafe on Washington Street has been open throughout most of Sandy's aftermath, selling $1 coffees outside.

- The downtown CVS had its power restored on Thursday night, which means the store will have working credit card machines as well as an ATM.

- Mamoun's Falafel is serving a limited menu

- Aspen Market on Third and Washington is open

- Cornerstone Pets is open

- Natural Plus, across from City Hall, is open

- Margarita's, Napoli, Vito's Deli, Benny Tudino's are all open. (note that Benny Tudino's ran out of pizza earlier in the week)

- Amanda's served free food on Thursday

- Uptown bodegas on 11th Street are open

- A&P is open

- Court Street never lost power and is open

- The Brass Rail is running on a back up generator and is serving food and drinks

- Sunshine Deli on Third and Garden is open

- CKO Fitness is opening its doors to all Hobokenites at 900 Madison St.

- Cork City is open

- Stacks is open

- McDonalds is open

- The Wicked Wolf is open and $1 of every soup and wrap will be donated

- Black Bear is open

- Sparrow Wine and Spirits is open

Please help your fellow Hobokenites and add open businesses in our comment section below. We will be updating this list as more information comes in.

Know your rights-
A landlord must disclose any past flooding in the apartment before a tenant moves in. Some landlords find this duty to be burdensome. They don’t know the entire history of their apartment, and fear that leaving out information exposes them to liability unfairly. However, at the bare minimum, landlords must disclose actual knowledge of past flooding in the apartment. If you are completely flooded out and apt is uninhabitable, the lease is effectively terminated. If landlord knowingly withheld or "omitted"info you may sue for damages and loss of property. my friend was wiped out in Irene in basement 336 park and he said landlord was aware of past flooding.

Our Prime Time in Hoboken is finally able to open on Monday..THE ONLY CHILDCARE to be opened in Hoboken. Monday we are opening the doors to Hoboken families to utilize our drop in service on a first come first serve basis and you do not need to be an enrolled family..We have power, heat, toys, a hot meal for the children, extra cribs ..we are even asking our edgewater families who are still without power to come to hoboken for care..I am working with Hoboken Family Alliance to create a drop off location point for items needed by families as well...we can make a difference to these families in need...email pthoboken@aol.com if you know someone in need of care

Charittos on 10th street and 1st street locations have been serving hot free lunch since Thursday. Have continued to offer a free hot meal everyday since then. Today they will offer breakfast too. Free. I've heard some crazy rumors about extreme pricing for food. At a time of such crisis I think it's important to give back to a community that keep a business in business.

I also want to add how proud I am to be part of a community who is so tight knit and rises to the occasion everytime. From the families who opened their doors on 11st from the get go, families on Hudson who did the same and kept us informed of the needs at the shelters. To just everyone who selflessly stepped up to the plate. Thank You.

Please, can anyone help me get some information? My DH is a lineman, traveling today from SD to help out in Hoboken area. He doesn't know where they may be sleeping/eating, how much stuff he'll need to bring. Does anyone know where the out-of-town linemen are being housed?
