Without St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hoboken, Where to Go?
For the first time in many years, Hoboken will not have a St. Patrick's Day Parade. But there are many to go to around the state.

While Hoboken's parade has been canceled this year, there are 26 other parades in New Jersey this month, celebrating Irish heritage.
The first one—which, traditionally, used to be the Hoboken parade—will take place on Sunday in Belmar.

If you don't want to travel all the way to Belmar, nearby Bayonne is also holding its annual parade this month.

The best and easiest Saint Patrick's Day Parade to attend is in Manhattan on Saint Patrick's Day, :-)

umm, maybe in the big picture the NY St. Pat's is the best/easiest but, for us, sadly - the best one was always our own. We could wave to people we know, the mayor and council other locals. oh well....

Yes, it was always fun to wave to the mayor and council. I remember a couple of years ago I was standing near where councilman Lenz passed by and he waved to me and my family. It was very nice.

I'm having a unibrow festival at my place. It's being catered by Mongo Callichio. Beth is giving him to me for the day. I was shopping at Macy's today, boys section, and got a great tie for the event

When it first started, and for quite a few years, the Hoboken St. Patrick's Day parade was fun. But over time it became increasingly irrelevant to what has become the true purpose of the day - thousands and thousands of twenty-somethings and out-of-towners coming to Hoboken as early as possible to get as drunk as possible and then wandering the streets in packs. What started as a small town, local event turned into an annual invasion of drunken jerks in garish outfits and green Dr. Seuss hats. It’s the worst day of the year in Hoboken.
The one event that still retains the true small town local flavor of Hoboken is the annual Memorial Day parade

I was out - the real Hoboken tradition is, of course, gone now. It seemed pretty tame out there; young young crowd. No crowding in any stores that I could see. I'm too old to have any interest in bar hopping/crawling so, to me, now the whole day now is really pointless. I hope the kids enjoy themselves.
