Theo Peck and Nick Suarez are excited to present the first ever Jersey Booze Experiment, an amateur cookoff involving Jersey’s finest, most committed, passionate, and intense home chefs. Dishes will range from the savory to the sweet. You’ll see it all: Beer soup, alcohol laced baked goods, wine-filled braises, intoxicating dishes, drunken noodles and every experiment in between. If it has booze, it can compete. We dare you to create a dessert!
Anyone can compete! Anyone can attend! And anyone can win! Sharpen your knives, America! This is a call to all amateur chefs looking to be named the next cook-off king or queen of Jersey.
The winners will not only receive a lifetime supply of culinary glory, cash, and other great prizes from our sponsors, but the grand prize winner will be flown to Brooklyn, NY to compete for the National cook-off title, the Super-Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup of cook-offs to be held at Brooklyn Brewery. You, along with our professional judging panel choose the winners! Do you have what it takes to win? All competing chef-testants will receive a $50 gift certificate to a local supermarket to help with the costs. A portion of the proceeds will go towards charities that promote sustainability and local culinary education for disadvantaged children and teens.

More About Maxwell's
Open since 1978, Maxwell's has a rich history as a music venue and entertainment spot in Hoboken. Well-known bands, most notably Yo La Tengo, got their start here, and surprise visits from big names like Sonic Youth are a common occurrence. There are still live performances every evening in the back room, which has layered standing bleachers that give a good view of the bands. The ambience at Maxwell's is comfortable and the service is friendly, making this as good a place to stop by for a drink as it is to take in the latest indie act. Tickets may be ordered online, and on-site private parties (lounge or back room) can be accommodated with advance notice.
