This is a benefit for Bella Benetatos to raise money for a state of the art computer called the MyTobii that reads eye gaze and will enable Bella to communicate with the world once again.  Salvatore Scirica & Ralph Giordano of Prudential Professionals Realty will be hosting the 1^st Annual Valentine’s Bash for Bella.  This special benefit will be held at Crystals Restaurant located at 585 Riverside Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ on February 11^th, 2012 from 7pm to 12. It will be a night of Dinner and Dancing with a 5 hr Open Bar.

Tickets are $75.00 per person.

HERE ARE SOME WORDS FROM BELLA…

My name is Bella, the daughter of Carla and Joseph Benetatos. My dad, Joe, is a life long resident of Hoboken. I just turned 8 years old along with my twin sister, Gabbi. I WAS BORN A PERFECTLY NORMAL LITTLE GIRL. On March 3, 2008 my parents received the news that I was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare and incurable, physically disabling, and neurological disorder.  It reversed all I learned as an infant & left me unable to speak or use my hands… silent, trapped inside a world of my own with no means of communication. Sign language is not an option for me because my brain signals cannot control my hands.  In most cases, girls with Rett are confined to wheel chairs, have seizures, scoliosis, heart problems, feeding tubes, and many more horrible symptoms. Being that I can still walk, I am considered one of the "LUCKY ONES".

My parents took me to most amazing Neurologist and Rett specialist, Dr. Alexandra Djukic, at the Rett Syndrome Center at Montefiore Children’s Hospital. She tested me on a new eye gaze technology computer called the MyTobii that actually reads MY eye gaze!!  I would be able to communicate my thoughts, feelings, wants and needs again by looking at objects on the computer screen.  However, this computer is extremely expensive. Prudential Professionals Realty has graciously offered to sponsor this benefit to help raise money to purchase a MyTobii and make communicating a reality for me.  It would truly be a dream come true for me & my family.

My mommy had to write this letter for me today. But, with your help, I pray that one day I will be able to speak to you all by myself.
