Friday in Hoboken: Art Exhibits, Ping Pong

*An exhibit of Florentine art "with a modern twist" is on display now through Oct. 20 at the Mason Civic League, located at 1200 Washington St. The gallery is open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and by appointment Sunday and other times throughout the week.

*The Proto Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery in Hoboken,has an ongoing exhibition called, "Proto Intro: One," which features 10 contemporary artists who work in a variety of mediums, from painting to photography. The exhibit is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment, through Nov. 17.

*The city hosts table tennis nights at the Multi-Service Center from 8 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. every Friday for the rest of the year. Players of all ages are invited to attend the free games (children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult), which will be held in the Multi-Service Center's second floor gym. Six tables, paddles and balls are available at the center.
