*Pregnant women are invited to attend an Expectant Mommies Social at 7 p.m. Thursday at City Bistro to meet other women who are due at the same time they are, ask questions of a pediatric doctor and enjoy "mocktails" and desserts. Tickets are $35 per person in advance or $40 at the door. 

*Dr. Jonathan Wharton will discuss his new book, "A Post-Racial Change is Gonna Come: Newark, Cory Booker, and the Transformation of Urban America," at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hoboken Public Library.

*City Councilman Tim Occhipinti is holding his fourth annual Pasta, Politics and Sinatra campaign fundraiser Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Leo's Grandevous, 200 Grand St. Tickets are $125 for general admission and $35 for young professionals.
