Thursday in Hoboken: NJ Tech Meetup, Comedy Night at Willie McBride's

*NJ Tech Meetup, a group of more than 150 tech entrepreneurs who meet monthly on the Stevens Institute campus to share best practices and learn from industry innovators, is hosting a lecture by fon.com CEO Nina Sodhi on Thursday. The event begins at 6:45 p.m. with a half-hour of speed networking followed by presentations from three startups. Sodhi will speak from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will be held in the Bissinger Room on the fourth floor of the Stevens Institute's Howe Center. 

*Willie McBride's, located at 616 Grand St., will host a Hoboken Alumni-sponsored comedy night Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased atwww.brownpapertickets.com/event/474310 or by emailing HobokenAlumni@gmail.com.

*Learn the sport of hurling and train with the Hoboken Guards Thursdays this fall from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1600 Park. Men, women and kids — especially beginners — are invited to attend. Email hobokenhurling@gmail.com for more information.

*Hoboken Uptown Farmers’ Market is in business Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of 13th and Hudson streets.

*The Ramos Campaign will hold its weekly "Wine and Cheese" meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at "Vision for Hoboken" headquarters, 801 Washington St., to discuss local issues like flooding, parking and quality of life with residents.
