Law Firm Uses New Technology To Help The Hungry In Somerset County

Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A. and YouGiveGoods Team Up to Support Curbing Hunger 2013

Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., Somerset County's largest law firm, has paired up with YouGiveGoods in support of Curbing Hunger’s 2013 Food Drive Campaign, “Hunger Doesn’t Take A Vacation.”

Curbing Hunger partnered with YouGiveGoods to ensure groups are easily able to join the campaign and set up their own drives. Curbing Hunger President, Chuck Knill said, “One of the reasons we are working with YouGiveGoods is to better engage companies and other organizations in Somerset County to participate in this year’s campaign. Because everything is online, it’s much easier, greener, and faster to participate, and you can choose the items that you want to donate.”

Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., with offices in Bridgewater, NJ, New York, NY and Allentown, PA, strongly believes in giving back to the community and assisting those who are in need. They recognize that the summer months can be some of the scariest for children who are used to getting most of their meals through school programs. The firm set up it’s own drive as part of the Curbing Hunger 2013 Campaign to raise as much food as they can for The Food Bank Network of Somerset County.

Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A. Chief Marketing Officer, Ed Miller said, “YouGiveGoods has allowed us a way to participate in this year’s Curbing Hunger campaign as a group. Their platform makes it easy for us to spread the word about our drive and convenient for both members and friends of our firm to log on to our drive page and donate to the cause. This is not something that we would have been able to do had it been a traditional, physical food drive.”

The law firm, which has a long standing tradition of supporting The Food Bank Network of Somerset County, joins the campaign alongside St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Basking Ridge, St. John on the Mountain of Bernardsville, and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Gladstone. This is the first year that groups have been able to set up their own online drives to support the Curbing Hunger Campaign, making it easier for more people in more places to participate.

Anyone can get involved with the cause that Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A. is supporting by clicking here. Food can be purchased online to donate to the Drive. Once the drive is over on June 30, 2013, YouGiveGoods will deliver the food to The Food Bank Network of Somerset County and supporters will receive an e-mail to let them know when the goods have been delivered.
