Assemblyman Carmelo Garcia Meets with The ARC Self Advocates at New Jersey’s Developmental Disabilities Awareness at the State House.
Assemblyman Garcia meet with The Arc of New Jersey last week at their display in the Statehouse to advocate on behalf of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The Assemblyman has been a staunch supporter of rights and programs for persons with disabilities which provide vital opportunities for people with disabilities across all sectors of society. The ARC is a leader in disability rights. They are the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as provide support for their families. The ARC encompass all ages and all spectrums from Autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities.

The event at the Statehouse, empowers constituents with disabilities to become their own advocates as they talk with legislators about the issues that impact their lives. It is also an opportunity to learn more about individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living, working and socializing in local communities across the State.
