BC Protect & Rescue Hosts Mardi Gras Happy Hour

Fort Lee - Bergen County Protect & Rescue (BCP&R), the non-profit, no-kill, volunteer animal shelter located in Cliffside Park, is hosting a Happy Hour Mardi Gras on February 28, at In Napoli located at 116 Main St., Fort Lee, NJ from 4p – 7p.

The Mardi Gras Happy Hour will be a fun-filled event for everyone.  Volunteer and event co-coordinator Ernie Szabo will prepare the various Cajun foods that will be served.  Prizes such as baskets and gift certificates will be raffled off in addition to drink specials all for a $20 donation.  There will also be Mardi Gras beads and masks for guests to make the night more entertaining.  Each guest will receive a $20 adoption discount coupon with a paid donation.

“This event is to help raise the much-needed funds in order to continue the mission of saving lives and helping our communities needs” states Vincent Ascolese, Humane Enforcement Agent and founder of the shelter.  “As we are taking in more animals from the area and with higher medical bills, our cost as of January 2014 is now $10,000 per month”.

Volunteers ask if you can not attend this event, but love animals and would like to help out, a donation of either a basket, gift certificate or check made out to BC Protect & Rescue will greatly be appreciated to help raise the funds for the animals.  All proceeds benefit Bergen County Protect & Rescue for food, medical bills and low cost spay/neuter for animals in its care.  BCP&R takes in animals from Cliffside Park, Fort Lee, Edgewater, Fairview, Palisades Park, Teaneck, Bogota, Englewood Cliffs and Elmwood Park along with the GWB PA of NJ/NY areas.  All donations are tax deductible.

The animal shelter is in great need of volunteers to help with fundraising, public relations, grants, dog walking, cat socializing, cage cleaning, graphic art design and administrative.  For additional information or tickets please contact the shelter at www.BCRescues.org or call 201-945-0649 or stop by the shelter during operation hours at 302 2nd St., Cliffside Park.   Shelter hours are Mon – closed, Tues., Thurs., Fri. 11a – 4p, Wed. 11a – 7p, Sa & Su – 12n – 4p.
