Hudson County Under Flood Watch Until Late Afternoon

The flood warning issued overnight in Hudson County has been lifted, but a flood watch remains in effect until 4 p.m.

Travelers should expect to battle the rain Wednesday morning on their way out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Between two and three inches of rainfall is expected across the county, and the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Hudson County until 4 p.m. Some higher elevation areas to the north and west of New York City could receive as many as four inches of rain.

A flood warning, which means flooding is imminent or has been reported, had been in effect until 10 a.m., but has since been lifted. The current flood watch means only that there is still a potential for flooding, particularly in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

As temperatures drop late Wednesday evening, there is a slight chance of snow showers.
