City to Host Second Annual Irish Festival

The event is scheduled for March 13.

It's almost March. And in Hoboken that means that it's time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Multiple times.

Two major Irish events will be held before it's even March 17.

On March 13, the City of Hoboken is organizing its annual Irish festival for the second time.

The event, which is sponsored by the city and is supposed to be a replacement for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, will be held on Wednesday March 13.

This year marks the second year without a St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hoboken.

Thousands of people are still expected to attend LepreCon on Saturday, a pub crawl that was organized for the first time last year. Many Hobokenites are also expected to be hosting house parties on Saturday, a tradition on the first Saturday in March.

The annual Irish Festival will start at 3 p.m. on March 13 at Frank Sinatra Park.

Agreed. Also, spending more than five minutes writing an article about the Irish Festival may involve the community more.

The Mayor has been very quiet about this years Lepre-con. I wonder how prepared she is for the onslaught. I guess when the camera crews show up on Saturday we'll hear from her.

Disappointed, I see two photos have been added to this article, both ads for Lepre-con.

THAT'S CAUSE NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE IRISH FESTIVAL. Get over it. Why would they add photos of something no one cares about? JEEZ

My understanding of journalistic media is that articles are given names so that a target audience can self-select based on their interest in the subject matter. Ergo, the people who "care about" the festival would be the ones who clicked on an article with the title " City to Host 2nd Annual Irish Festival." That wasn't so complicated, now was it. No caps required. Here's the article from last year. It had 59 pictures. http://hoboken.patch.com/articles/hoboken-holds-first-ever-irish-cultural-festival
