Happy Holidaze featuring Santaland Diaries and Season's Greetings

The Theater Company presents two David Sedaris one acts to put you in the mood for the holidays.

THE SANTALAND DIARIES, featuring Brendan Applegate, is a brilliant evocation of what a slacker's Christmas must feel like. Out of work, our slacker decides to become a Macy's elf during the holiday crunch. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouringthrough Santa's workshop, he
becomes battle weary and bitter. After many trials and tribulations, our elf finds a Santa who actually seems to care about and love the children who come to see him, startling our hero into an uncharacteristic moment of goodwill just before his employment runs out.

SEASON'S GREETINGS, featuring Joanne Smith, is another funny, touching and twisted monologue about the season, told in the version of the "Christmas letter". All of the family's skeletons are brought to light as the mother reads her final version of the letter to the audience.

Studio C413 at the Monroe Center, 720 Monroe Street - free parking, and only one block from the 9th Street Light Rail station.
