Street Closures Due to Mumford & Sons Concert

The concert—which is the kick off of the band's summer tour—is sold out. A crowd of 15,000 people is expected to attend. 

Construction of the stage on the pier began on Monday morning, when the stage was delivered. During the preparations, parts of Pier A Park will be closed.

As of Wednesday, Sinatra Drive between Newark Street and Fourth Street will be closed to cars. Warrington Plaza, adjacent to Hoboken Terminal, will also be closed by NJ Transit.

The city advised visitors to take public transit when coming into Hoboken. Additional PATH trains will operate between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

NJ Transit will also be providing additional service. Municipal parking garages are expected to reach capacity.

Access to the concert space will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, with two bands playing before Mumford & Sons.

The event will take place rain or shine.

The concert will conclude at 10 p.m., followed by approximately 3 minutes of fireworks from a barge on the river. 

Officers from the Hoboken Police Department and more than 100 event security personnel will be present. The Port Authority, NJ Transit, Hudson County and Jersey City police departments are also providing logistical and communications support.

The security cost will be paid for by the band. Of every ticket sold, $2—a total of $30,000—will go into the city's cultural affairs fund.
