Celebrities Celebrate Windmill Opening

You can now get the famous dogs in Hoboken.

Roger Corrado will not tell you the secret to why Windmill hot dogs are so special.

"It's a secret recipe," said Corrado, . He will, however, sell you as many as you want until 4 a.m. on the weekend.

Business has been good at the Hoboken location, Corrado said. The shop sells between 200 and 300 hot dogs per day, he said. "It's been great," Corrado said.

On Friday afternoon, during the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Windmill, local celebrity comedian Artie Lange enjoyed a hot dog, sitting next to—and laughing with—actor Danny Aiello.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer was there to cut the ribbon, and sank her teeth into a hot dog shortly after.

"This hits the spot!" she said.

"It was good lobster and a really great hot dog," Lange said Friday afternoon, followed by laughter of his friends. He said he likes to put mustard, a little sauerkraut and sometimes even a little chili on his hot dog.

When asked if he will be hanging out at Windmill, Lange answered with a definite "yes."

"It's walkable for me," Lange said. "I'm going to drive, but it's walkable."

I had a dog here the other day and never had a better dog for $4.29 in my life. The dog hits the spot and I can see this becoming a landmark place in Hoboken as it has become a landmark down the shore. Also nice to know Artie eats something other than Uptown Pizza. Mangia should put this on the tour of eateries as well, AAAA+++++

So I went there early Friday evening and literally stood there for 15 minutes with my son and wife waiting for someone to take our order while 10 employees stood around doing nothing. We ended up walking out.

Sad that Perry Klaussen was petty enough to go out of his way to crop out Mayor Dawn Zimmer from the photos for his H411 blog. Hopefully he be able to sell off his blog site and move to Vermont . http://hobokenhorse.com
