Chamber Honors Local PR Firm Founder as 'Business Woman of the Year'

The president and founder of a local boutique public relations firm was honored last week as the "2013 Hoboken Woman in Business of the Year." 

The Hoboken Chamber of Commerce on Thursday bestowed Michele Litzky of Litzky Public Relations with the award, which recognizes the workplace achievements of local female executives, at the chamber's second annual Business Awards ceremony.

“What an honor! I am grateful for this title and for the recognition from my peers,” Litzky said in a statement. “More than 20 years ago, I chose Hoboken to build my agency because of its proximity to Manhattan. Now it’s home to many of my employees. It’s a vibrant, flourishing, resilient city and I am proud to be a Hoboken business owner.”

LPR, which this year is celebrating its 25th year in business, started in Litzky’s one bedroom apartment with just one client and has grown to employ 18 public relations professionals who represent high-profile clients like Hasbro, Moose Toys and Mamas & Papas.

“Michele Litzky was named Hoboken’s Woman in Business of the Year for her unparalleled dedication to the community,” Chamber president Gregory Dell’Aquila said in a statement. “While the LPR office is a staple on the Hoboken waterfront, the agency and its employees impact the community far beyond Sinatra Drive. Litzky’s success is an inspiration to other small business owners in Hoboken, and we commend her on her incredible career.”
