Liberty Humane Society Offers 'Name Your Price' Adoption Promotion

Prospective animal adopters can pay any price they choose for their new pet starting Thursday at the Liberty Humane Society as part of the shelter's second annual "Name Your Price" adoption promotion, which runs through next Tuesday, Oct. 29.

All of the dogs and cats housed at the Liberty Humane Society, which serves as the primary animal shelter for Jersey City and Hoboken, are included in the six-day promotion and will come spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters will also receive a goodie bag for their new pet as part of the deal.

Dogs are normally $175 to adopt, while puppies (under six months) and dogs under 25 pounds are $225. Cats are normally $125 to adopt and kittens (under four months) are $150.

The shelter is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday as part of this promotion.
