MathWizard, an after-school Math and English tutoring company with locations across the country, held a grand opening for its new learning center in Hoboken on Friday.

The ceremony, which State Assemblyman-elect Carmelo Garcia attended, marked two months in business for the local MathWizard branch, located at the corner of 13th Street and Grand Street.

"This is a great opportunity for the city and an amazing opportunity for our kids," Garcia said in a statement.

The fast-growing after-school tutoring chain, which offers small group sessions for children from pre-K through high school, has three other locations in New Jersey, according to its website.

For more information, visit the facilities on Saturday when the company holds a weekly open house from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or call the center at (201) 253-5522 to make an appointment for Information and Placement Testing any Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Yikes, what were the math wizard owners thinking? Carmelo Garcia? The same guy who tapes the mayors husband? Wow!? Well I had thought of using this facility for my kids but this really makes me wonder about their credibility?

Are you serious? Credibility? Said the person who posts comments under an alias?? FYI the Mayor and other elected officials were invited and could not attend, Carmelo has done great things in our community! Good for him not being afraid and exposing the Mayor's husband for the bully that he is. Anyway this article is not about Carmelo, congrats to long time Hoboken residents now Hoboken Business owners! Congrats Math Wizard! My niece has been attending and in 4 weeks has shown great progress!!

Carmelo has done great things in our community? Really? All I hear is he keeps pushing for a large redevelopment project for the Hoboken housing authority without guaranteeing that current residents will have a home in the new development and in addition wants to create market rate units? Sort of sounds like he is going to screw over current residents? And then of course we have all heard about the harassment stories of that poor women by Carmelo's friend's....sorry but the guy sounds like a crook.
