Melting Pot Closes Hoboken Restaurant

Fondue restaurant shut its doors Monday after opening on Sinatra Drive in October 2007.

The Melting Pot of Hoboken closed its doors Monday after more than six years in the city.

The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. and the franchisees of the Sinatra Drive fondue restaurant reached an agreement to allow the franchisees to re-concept the space, according to a statement released Monday.
The restaurant's 15 "team members" were notified ahead of Monday morning's announcement.

"We sincerely regret the impact this has had on our guests and our family of team members," the company statement read.

The Melting Pot opened in Hoboken on Oct. 3, 2007 and continue to have locations on Center Avenue in Westwood and Route 10 in Whippany.

"The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. has a strong interest in bringing The Melting Pot to another location in Hoboken or the surrounding area in the future."
