PATH Fare Increase In Effect Monday

A single PATH ride is now $2.25.

Hoboken commuters will see an increase in their PATH fare as of Monday morning.

The second $.25 increase—the first one took place a year ago—will go into effect on October 1.

A single PATH ride will now be $2.25.

There will be two more $.25 increases, one next year and one the year after.

The fare and toll increases as a way to "restore fiscal health to the agency by increasing toll and fare rates," according to last year's announcement.

Zimmer fails again. Rising Path fares, crumbling infrastructure, lawsuits petering out - Dawn's legacy.

Why did an NJT executive who doesn't even live in Hoboken show up on ELECT reports as giving money to Occhipinti's City Council campaign along with Beth and Richard Mason ? Can anyone think of a reason ? Oh yeah that reason. :-)

Spurious Displacement- What a boneheaded twinkie sugar rush laden argument if I ever read one. Let me try an argument equally flaccid as a Hoboken 411 Zimmer hit piece..... Peter Cammarano failed too. He campaigned against PATH fare increases and was Jon Corzine's ally. Then Petey got busted for taking a bribe from a developer and he wasn't around to save Hoboken from the PATH fare increases because he was like the greatest 31 day Mayor in the history of Hoboken. Then Corzine lost the election and Operation Bid Rig sure didn't help. So Petey by taking a bribe helped take out Corzine and the two great protectors of PATH commuters in Hoboken are now out of power. Petey screwed up and now attends WWE fans weddings. You can't fight PATH increases from prison. [sarcasm off] Zimmer is not the head of the PATH agency and she doesn't like to grandstand. If you want your fares to go up even more vote for Romney. The Republicans generally like to cut mass transit subsidies.

If I am not mistaken both Peter Cammerano and his now ex-wife both did business dealings with NJT while he was a Councilman and that is why he had to recuse himself from voting on anything NJT related. Everyone understood he was never going to get a PATH fare reduction and it was like so much of his campaign smoke and mirriors to get elected. Councilman Occhipinti has reportedly had NJT executive who doesn't even live in Hoboken listed as a campaign contributor and to my knowledge has refused to recuse himself.

The way to clean the port authority is the same as the way to fix hoboken. Cut out corruption and pet projects and let the money go to where it should. Even Ruben Ramos can see it. I understand why Councilman Occhipinti can't get it, he's too busy yelling about not getting on the bus right away.
