Yankee Ferry Departs Hoboken for Red Hook, Brooklyn [Photos]

A few dozen well-wishers gathered at Pier 12 Tuesday to see off the historic Yankee Ferry, whose close-knit crew set sail for a new home across the Hudson after city officials asked them to vacate Hoboken's uptown waterfront, where the 106-year-old vessel had been docked for the last seven years.

Prior to relocating to city-owned Pier 12 on an emergency basis following Superstorm Sandy, Yankee had been docked just north at a private pier in the Shipyard marina since 2006.
