Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Collecting Donations For Hoboken Shelter As Part Of Companywide "Cares Days" Event

HOBOKEN, N.J. – (April 8, 2014) – The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office on 323 Washington Street in Hoboken will be accepting donations for the Hoboken Shelter from Saturday, April 19 through Sunday, April 27. The collection is part of “Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Days,” in which each of the real estate company’s 56 offices in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. will be giving back to local communities through charitable efforts on April 24-26. This second annual Cares Days event is organized through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm.

The Hoboken Shelter is a non-profit housing corporation owned and operated by the Communities of Faith for Housing, Inc. As stated on www.hobokenshelter.org, its mission is to “assist homeless men and women in developing the skills needed to gain employment, achieve independence and re-integrate into the community.” The Hoboken Shelter provides meals for the hungry, shelter for the homeless and service to support people in becoming housed.

The sales associates affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Hoboken are hoping that members of the community can help by donating the following items:

·         Clothing: men’s casual clothing; socks and underpants for men and women; (no other women's clothing needed)

·         Food (non-perishable): canned goods, coffee, sugar, cereal, instant potatoes, marinara sauce

·         Supplies: hot/cold cups, paper/plastic plates, napkins, plastic utensils, toilet paper, laundry detergent, garbage bags (55-gallon), postage stamps, envelopes, pens

·         Toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, washcloths

·         Extras: McDonald’s gift cards, new umbrellas, flashlights with batteries, backpacks, dominoes, playing cards

Since its inception in 2005, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. has given more than $626,000 to charities supporting local communities, along with countless volunteer hours donated by sales associates.

During the first annual Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Days event in 2013, approximately 800 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates volunteered a combined 5,000 hours to support 62 different organizations and causes. During the three-day event, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation raised $13,000 for charitable causes, as well as collecting 5,000 pounds of food valued at $13,900 and $750 in dog and cat supplies.
