PATH Will Run 24 Hours on New Year's Eve, Day

The Port Authority made the announcement on Monday.

Don't worry about leaving your New Year's Eve Party in Hoboken early. The PATH is running 24/7 on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced on Monday.

This will be the first time the PATH is running round the clock since Hurricane Sandy.

Until then, service runs between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. every day. The Hoboken station was reopened last week after being closed for nearly two months.

From the Port Authority's announcement:

On Tuesday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., PATH trains will run both ways from Newark to the World Trade Center, Journal Square to 33rd Street, and Hoboken and 33rd Street. Between the hours of 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day, PATH trains will run approximately every 10 minutes to and from Journal Square and 33rd Street, and Hoboken and 33rd Street. There will be no service during those hours between Newark and the World Trade Center.

On Monday. January 1, between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., PATH trains will be in service to and from Newark and the World Trade Center, Journal Square and 33rd Street, and Hoboken and 33rd Street. Service between Newark and the World Trade Center will end at 10 p.m. on January 1 and resume the following morning on a normal schedule.

you mean 24, not 24/7, that would imply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and that ain't happening yet.
