An award-winning journalist who has appeared frequently as a
political commentator on radio and TV; Nichols is a contributing editor for The
Progressive and In These Times; associate editor of the Capital
Times daily newspaper in Madison, WI; and a contributor to the New
York Times and Chicago Tribune. He has testified before the US
Congress and the Federal Communications Commission; keynoted congresses of the
International Federation of Journalists in Athens and Cadiz; presented at the
United Nations Conference on Freedom of Expression in Oslo; and appeared in a
number of documentaries, including “OutFoxed” and Bill Moyers’ “The United
States of ALEC.” Nichols is the author of the best-selling biography of Dick
Cheney titled Dick: The Man Who Is President, as well as Uprising,
a critically-acclaimed analysis of the rise of protest movements from state
capitols to Occupy Wall Street. His most recent book (with Prof. Robert W.
McChesney) is Dollarocracy: How the Money and Media Election Complex is
Destroying America.
