Volunteers to Feed Hoboken Firefighters For Sept. 11 Service Week

Volunteers are still needed to serve a meal to Hoboken firefighters as part of Jersey Cares' Sept. 11 service week.

As part of its week of service to remember Sept. 11, volunteers with Jersey Cares, a non-profit that coordinates volunteer opportunities across the state, will prepare and serve meals for local firefighters at three firehouses in Hoboken on Saturday.

Jersey Cares' service projects on Saturday in Hoboken are just three of the 25 throughout the state that the non-profit and more than 1,000 of its volunteers have committed to perform during its week of service to pay tribute to the way Americans united following the 2001 terrorist attacks.

"With these projects, New Jerseyans will demonstrate that the actions of September 11, 2001 that were designed to foster division and animosity have instead instilled unity and service both in New Jersey and throughout the United States," a press release announcing the Jersey Cares week of service states.
