Modell's Sporting Goods Helps Hoboken Charter School

The sporting goods store is donating $5,000 in equipment for the school's physical education classes.

Modell’s Sporting Goods is donating $5,000 worth of equipment to the Hoboken Charter School, according to an announcement from the sporting goods store.

Modell's is donating soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, cones, bags and other equipment needed for physical education and other activities "to help get the school back on track and allow them to proceed with their normal day-to-day activities," according to the announcement. 

Modell’s is presenting the items to the school's principal Deirdra Grode and PE Teacher, Kevin Flynn with their gym class on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

The event took place at the school's temporary location in Jersey City, where it moved into last week. 

A four-alarm fire caused heavy damage to the school's permanent locatoin at 713 Washington St. on September 6.
