Calabro Students Participate in NFL One World Program

Beginning in September, 5th grade students at Calabro were lucky enough to participate in the NFL sponsored One World program. This program pairs schools in both New York and New Jersey in an effort to teach students about different communities, cultures, and classrooms.

Calabro students were paired with PS 119 in Brooklyn. Over the course of four months, students completed One World lessons and exchanged pen pal letters to learn about one another. On January 27th, students from all participating schools, were invited to the NFL One World Super Huddle, held at Liberty Science Center. During the event, students met their pen pals, met players from the Giants, and participated in activities promoting health and wellness. Even though the event is over, Calabro and PS 119 decided to continue their pen pal relationship, and hope to one day meet again.
