Hoboken High Senior Writes for National Publication

Sasha Ferrer contributes to national autism newsletter.

A Hoboken High School journalist was recently chosen to write for a local community event and organization. Senior, Sasha Ferrer, who is a newspaper staff writer, yearbook layout designer and co-editor of the school’s literary magazine “CREATE,” was recruited to cover an exciting day in front of HOPES on 301 Garden Street. She wrote an article about the “Rock'n 4 Autism Awareness Concert and Festival,” which appeared in the Science in Autism Treatment newsletter – read by over 12,000 subscribers across the country! What wonderful exposure! Sasha independently interviewed her subjects and covered the event on her own time. She also took over the professional responsibility of emailing and coordinating with the executive director of the ASAT and co-chair of the Hoboken Early Childhood Advisory Council, Dr. Celiberti. She was recommended by her journalism teacher, Ms. Malenda. (Click here to view Sasha's article).
