Early Morning Brawl on Washington Street Leaves Man Arrested, Store Front Broken

A fight broke out on downtown Washington Street early Sunday morning.

Hoboken police arrested a 21-year-old Morris Plains man early Sunday morning after allegedly getting into a fight on downtown Washington St.

The fight broke out around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, when Brian Karger got into a physical altercation with some of the security guards at Bahama Mamas, police said. Inside the establishment, he had allegedly been poking his victim, a 26-year-old man from North Bergen, in the face saying "I'm a cop, you can't touch me."

Once removed from the bar, Karger got into a physical altercation, police said. After pushing and shoving, he and two men fell into the window at the—yet to be opened—location of Red Mango Frozen Yogurt, police said. The window of the store front was broken, according to the police report.
