Hoboken Police Arrests 52-Year-Old Man for Lewd Behavior

Hoboken Police arrested the man on Saturday at a Park Avenue building.

Hoboken police arrested a 52-year-old man for lewd behavior in a residential building Saturday.

Angel Martinez Delgado was charged with lewdness after he allegedly was seen masturbating in the hallway of a building on Park Avenue between 12th and 13th streets, police said.

Delgado allegedly entered the building's elevator around 1 a.m., at the same time as a female resident of the building, police said.

The woman walked into the elevator with her daughter, police said. Inside the elevator, the woman told police, Delgado started staring at her "intensely," according to a police report.

When the elevator reached the fourth floor, the woman ran out of the elevator, entered her apartment with her daughter and slammed the door shut, police said. When the woman looked through the peephole in her door, she told police she allegedly saw the man masturbating, according to the report.

She then called police, who arrived at the scene and responded to Delgado's apartment on the third floor.

The woman then identified Delgado as the man she had seen outside her door, police said.

The woman appeared distressed, police said, and the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived to tend to her.

Delgado was arrested and charged with lewdness, according to police.
